Long Sutton Barns is the biggest community project of its kind in the area.
From the outside looking in it is an arts and crafts centre, hosting some 60 small arts and crafts businesses. There is a ceramic and paint a pot studio, a small cafe and a stained glass workshop…..along with heritage rope work permanently open.
From the inside looking out though it is a completely different story. LSB is an incubation unit for small arts and crafts start up businesses. It has a large social aspect where volunteers socialise at several non public events such as barbeques and summer get togethers. All the work is done by volunteers with very little hierarchy. Most decisions are made by group discussion although there is a senior management team for more pressing decisions. There a some projects on the go that we hope will come into fruition later this year. Such as the man shed project of which the details can be found online.
