Chantry School of Contemporary & Balletic Arts is the official school of the UK contemporary ballet company, Chantry Dance Company.
The school was formed by Chantry Dance Company’s co-Artistic Directors, Paul Chantry and Rae Piper, in order to provide a holistic dance training that prepares dancers for the profession. Underpinning this training is Chantry Dance Company itself, which offers students of Chantry School continuous support through employment and further development opportunities.
The school recognises that dance is a vocation, and the dancer first and foremost is an artist. In order to encourage the development of this artist, students are taught within an environment of discovery, support, rigor, discipline and respect.
Chantry School offers 5 different Associate Programmes suitable for the student dancer as a compliment to the training they already receive at their dance school or college. Associate courses available in contemporary ballet, classical ballet and modern dance from the age of 6+.
Chantry School’s 3 Year Course in Contemporary & Balletic Arts is a full-time vocational course for students aged 16+ with a focus on Contemporary Dance and Balletic Arts (Classical and Contemporary Ballet).
The course prepares the young dancer for entry into the industry.
