I am a Lincolnshire based socially engaged artist with 25 years’ experience of working with diverse communities and marginalised groups of all ages and abilities using a range of mediums: participation, engagement, reflection, collaboration and interaction.
I create accessible spaces for play, experimentation and risk taking using a broad art form; placing process, free choice, ownership and activism over product. I seek to raise awareness of social and economic issues including: stereotype, age, culture, ill health, loneliness, rural and social isolation, while connecting communities and encouraging dialogue.
My socially engaged work informs my studio practice of self-funded touring projects which connect rural artists and communities in a sharing of creative making and exhibition.
I am currently working with older adults in residential care and in the community; more information on my work can be found here https://artrovings.wordpress.com/
